F Wave Roofing

The onward march of technology continues to improve every aspect of our lives. Without a doubt, roofing is no exception! Every day the technology in roofing gives us the tools to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively. One improvement in the roofing world that you may want to keep an eye on is F Wave roofing and its synthetic shingles. Luckily, Honey Bees Roofing & Solar has all the info on F Wave Shingles so you’ll know if they’ll be right for your roofing project!

What are Synthetic Shingles?

F Wave has created revolutionary new shingles known as REVIA synthetic shingles. Most shingles are made of asphalt but can also be made of vinyl, wood, or slate. Unlike those singles, these shingles are made of a commercial-grade polymer. The polymer comes in a wide variety of styles and colors. Shingles made of asphalt have granules that will inevitably wear off and leave your roof vulnerable. Synthetic shingles last longer than asphalt shingles because they don’t have granules. Each synthetic shingle is one whole piece. Asphalt shingles, however, have glued layers that make up their construction. The layers of asphalt shingles breaking over time will lead to them having to be replaced much sooner than synthetic shingles. Not only are REVIA shingles built to last longer, they’re also built with more resistance against hail, wind, and fire than other shingles.

Hail Resistance

REVIA synthetic shingles have high hail resistance. Areas with inclement weather, such as north Texas, can benefit from extra protection for their roof. These synthetic shingles have a class 4 impact rating! That is the highest possible rating available to a shingle. When a shingle can withstand having a 2-inch steel ball dropped multiple times from a height of 20 feet, it receives a class 4 rating. The same test can crack a concrete brick in half! These synthetic shingles can take a beating.

Wind Resistance

Asphalt shingles have a low tear rating, and a tendency to blow off your roof if they’re nailed on improperly. REVIA synthetic shingles on the other hand have superior tear resistance. They can also survive high winds that most roofing material struggles to withstand. Synthetic shingles can withstand winds up to 130mph. That’s hurricane-force winds. Torn-off shingles can lead to leaks and water damage as water enters where roofing should be.

Fire Resistance

REVIA synthetic shingles have a class 4 fire rating. That’s the highest rating a shingle can get for fire resistance. That rating means that fire on these shingles will spread to a maximum of six feet, and won’t spread to the attic. It also won’t burn for an extended period of time. Since these shingles are so fire-resistant, if your roof does catch fire it severely lessens the chance your home will take major damage. The REVIA shingles are a very safe option for your home.

F Wave roofing is superior to asphalt shingle roofing. It has better resistance to fire, wind, and hail, and also lasts longer than normal asphalt shingles. They are also aesthetically pleasing and a perfect fit for your home.
